Welcome to Pacific Resources Online (PRO)! The Pacific Regional Technology in Education Consortium (PR*TEC), in association with Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), has developed PRO especially for Pacific Islanders with an interest in education. From this site, you can go directly to a wide range of educational resources:

  • Educational, Health, and Library Conferences: Upcoming events and conferences of interest to Pacific educators are listed chronologically.
  • Grants and Scholarships: Funding opportunities and resources are listed with contact details.
  • earlyreading.info: Find useful resources for teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in pre-kindergarten to 3rd grade.
  • Ethnomathematics Digital Library: Search for ethnomathematics materials by subject, geographical area, or cultural group.
  • NEARStar: This website includes appropriate resources for teaching reading to English language learners in kindergarten to 2nd grade.

  • Teaching Educators About Micronesian Students (TEAMS): This website contains resources for educators working in schools with Pacific island students who have left their home islands. Included is an overview of the islands, and suggestions for teachers in establishing a culturally sensitive classroom environment. Teach ReSPCT provides an array of cultural information about the islands from which these students moved
